12,000m² Steel Structure Warehouse in Kenya

Project Overview:
This project is a large logistics warehouse for a local distribution company in Nairobi, Kenya. The total building area is 12,000m², with a span of 30m and an eave height of 9m.

Client's Challenge:
The client needed a warehouse that could withstand high wind loads and a humid coastal climate, while also meeting a tight 60-day delivery deadline.

Our Solution:
We designed a portal frame structure using Q355B steel with hot-dip galvanizing (85μm) for all main columns and beams. The roof and wall panels used 0.6mm AZ150 Galvalume steel with a 50mm glass wool insulation layer.

Key Data:

Total steel weight: 180 tons
Span: 30m (no intermediate columns)
Wind load: 45 m/s
Delivery time: 55 days (5 days ahead of schedule)

Result:
The warehouse was successfully installed and passed the local structural inspection. The client placed a second order for a 6,000m² workshop within 6 months.
